River conditions permitting, the Slaney River Trust is organising a trip for paid-up members and their immediate families at 10.00 am on Saturday 13th of November to see the salmon spawning on the upper river.
The trip is being organised in conjunction with IFI staff and if the water level is reasonably low and clear we should have a great opportunity to actually see salmon cutting redds.
In the past, this has been a great morning out on the river and has proven particularly interesting for school going children and young anglers to see the fish close up.
In the event that the visit is unable to go ahead due to adverse river conditions, we will try and move it to the following weekend.
