Fishing Report 11th April

posted in: Salmon Fishing Reports & News | 0

Fishing over the past couple of weeks has generally been slow with a trickle of fish running the river. Water levels have been good during the period but many anglers have put in quite a few days with not so much as a pull. Others have been lucky including this angler with the first fish from the Kilbride beat and another a few days later. Fishing at Enniscorthy has been quiet but anglers have had a few, this one being the first of the season. Fish have been reported from many beats including Riversdale, Ballycarney, Clobemon, Tombrick, Strahart, The Wood and Clohamon, so the few that are about, seem to be well spread out. What many beats require now is a good flood as water levels are getting quite low. What is encouraging is that anglers are reporting seeing quite a few fish, but this is probably a result of the catch and release policy, which is clearly essential given the lack of a proper run of springers. Anglers are reminded to please join the Slaney Rod Fishers Association, your support is essential in order to keep the organisation going. This can be paid online, by post or by paying at the AGM on the 24th April at 7.30 pm in the Millrace Hotel, Bunclody.
