2021 was a good year for spawning

After the disappointment of the decision to continue to delay the opening of the river until 1 April, there is at least one bit of good news in that the 2021 spawning season on the Slaney is reported to have been generally very good with increased numbers of fish seen in the great majority of the normal locations in both the tributaries and the main channel.
