River High and Generally Coloured Since Opening Day

The river has been at or above 2Ft 6″ on the SRT Gauge for the great majority of the time since the opening day and has been carrying a significant amount of colour. At the time of writing it is approaching 3ft and the Tullow gauge is rising rapidly.

Given the conditions, it is not surprising that fishing has been slow and activity levels on the river low. At this stage we only know of 5 fish landed.

The opening day was effectively a washout but the 18th produced these 2 fish, both of beautiful springers of around 15lbs

The forecast up to Easter looks like more of the same but hopefully, after that the level will drop and we can see what stock there actually is in the river.

If any members have fishing reports ideally including pictures of fish caught please send them to to slaneyrivertrust@gmail.com marked reports for website.
