The Slaney River Trust 2026 Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday 10th of July at Redmonds’, Bunclody at 7.30 pm.
The AGM will provide members with an opportunity to hear about the Trust’s work over the past year, learn more about the projects and developments underway across the Slaney Catchment, and discuss priorities for the future.
We encourage all members to read the Chairman’s Letter in advance of the meeting, which outlines the Trust’s activities and future plans.

The Chairman’s Letter highlights several positive developments, including significant funding secured through LAWPRO’s Catchment Support Fund, progress on barrier mitigation projects throughout the catchment, and potential plans to restore spawning habitats and improve river connectivity. It also provides an update on ongoing efforts to secure a long-term solution for the fish passage issues at Clohamon Weir.
These initiatives will be discussed in more detail at the AGM, together with the Trust’s priorities for protecting and restoring the River Slaney and its salmon population.
The Trust is also seeking local knowledge from members and the wider community. If you are aware of damaged, drained, or modified river or stream channels anywhere within the Slaney Catchment that could benefit from restoration works, please contact the SRT Project Officer Ross Finlay at slaneyrivertrust@gmail.com . Local information is invaluable in helping us identify priority sites for future habitat restoration projects and securing funding to deliver them.
We look forward to welcoming members to the AGM and discussing how, together, we can work towards the enhancement the Slaney River.
