Confirmation of 17th March as the opening day for salmon and trout

We understand that formal confirmation of the 2013 season for the Slaney is imminent. This will see the river opening on a catch and release basis on the 17th of March with the 16th of September as the final day of the season. As per last year salmon fishing is on a strict catch and release basis with a flyonly rule above Enniscorthy bridge. Single barbless hooks must be used at all times. Up to 3 seatrout (under 40 cms)may be kept in a 24 hour period.
