A pollution incident on the Bann was reported to the IFI Pollution and Poaching Helpline on the morning of Sunday 24 April with the river above the confluence of the Bann and Slaney a strong milky colour. The visible impact spread down the mainstream of the river for a considerable distance.
IFI responded and had personnel on the ground within 2 1/2 hours. At this stage we are unaware of the cause of the incident or if any material damage has resulted.
