Yesterday’s press reported the findings of joint Irish /Norwegian research on the impact of sealice from salmon farms on the survival of smolts at sea. The report from the Royal Society and St Andrews University in Scotland shows a material adverse impact with sea lice responsible for an estimated 39% of smolt mortality at sea.
