The draft byelaw for the Slaney has been posted on the IFI site. As expected the season runs from 17 March to 16 September inclusive on a catch and release basis for salmon. The surprise is that the draft proposes that all sea trout fishing should be catch and release as well. This is different from the Nore and Suir and from what had been expected. Comments on the draft can be submitted to IFI Clonmel before 5 March.
