In the last week we have started to see and catch smolts and it is critical that as many as possible reach the sea safely. Please see this post from last year on how best to return smolts unharmed.
On the subject of handling fish can all members please keep any salmon being photographed in the water for other than just a few seconds to take the picture. Salmon should never be put up on the bank for an arranged photograph.
